OREFIELD, PA – The Stripes & Strikes 14u FUTURES Travel Softball Team competed in the National Softball Association 16u A World Series Qualfiier and went undefeated, sweeping 6 games to win the tournament.   With the victory, the team earns a berth for the NSA World Series to be held July 19-25 in Niagra Falls, New York.  Stripes & Strikes (41-5) outscored its opponents, 60-6 and outhit them, 57-14.  The team batting average was .429 and the team ERA was 0.52.  Below is a game-by-game capsule.
Game 1        Stripes & Strikes 14u FUTURES   15        Lehigh Valley Outlaws Fastpitch  0   (5 innings)
Gabby Rakowski blasted a triple and two doubles, driving in 2 runs.  Sarah Tuzinski ripped a triple an single to drive in two more.  Tiana Treon, Christina Schappert, and Samantha Kern each lined two singles.  Marissa Trivelpiece, Kayla Reich and Olivia Kardohely each added a single.  Reich worked 3 scoreless innings for the win.
Game 2        Stripes & Strikes 14u FUTURES   9        NEPA Wolfpack  0   (5 innings)
Christina Schappert blasted two home runs, driving in 3 runs to pace the offense.  Marissa Trivelpiece singled twice.  Gabby Rakowski drilled a triple while Tiana Treon roped a double.  Sarah Tuzinski, Kayla Reich and Morgan Wagner each singled, with Wagner driving in 2 runs.  Tuzinski hurled 4 shutout innings for the win.

Tiana Treon went 3-3, crushing a triple and double to drive in an amazing 7 runs to pace the offense.  Marissa Trivelpiece was also 3-3 with a triple, knocking in 3 runs.  Trivelpiece was also the winning pitcher.   Gabby Rakowski lined a triple and single to bring home two more runs.  Sarah Tuzinski, Sam Kern, Morgan Wagner, Haley Naperkowski, Olivia Kardohely and Erin Dunn each added a single. 
QUARTER-FINAL GAME:        Stripes & Strikes 14u FUTURES   11        Emmaus Sting   2      (5 innings)
Marissa Trivelpiece ripped an RBI-double and single to lead S&S to it’s 4th straight victory over the Emmaus Sting, 11-2 in 5 innings.  Gabby Rakowski stayed red hot, slamming a triple and single.  Samantha Kern drove in two runs with a single and sacrifice fly.  Morgan Wagner and Olivia Kardohely each lined an RBI-single.    Kardohely was the winning pitcher, allowing only 3 hits.
SEMI-FINAL GAME:        Stripes & Strikes 14u FUTURES   6        Skook Elite,  Cressona, PA  1
Kayla Reich hurled a complete-game 2-hitter and singled twice to lead S&S to it’s 5th victory.  Erin Dunn and Olivia Kardohely each blasted an RBI-single.  Tiana Treon, Marissa Trivelpiece and Gabby Rakowski each contributed a single.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:         Stripes & Strikes 14u FUTURES   2        Delco Rage Premier,  Havertown, PA   0
Stripes and Strikes had their Championship Game rained out after only 4 innings.   S&S was declared the Champion because they were the #1 seed heading into Single Elimination, having outscored their opponents, 41-0 in 3 Pool Play games on Saturday.   In the shortened Championship Game, Kayla Reich and Tiana Treon had RBI-singles.  Morgan Wagner also singled and scored a run.   Sarah Tuzinski went the distance on the mound to earn her second win of the tournament.
Stripes & Strikes 14u FUTURES (41-5) now qualifiy for the NSA World Series in Niagra Falls, NY July 19-24.    Gabby Rakowski was the tournament’s leading hitter, going 9-15 (.600) with 2 doubles, 3 triples and a home run.  Marissa Trivelpiece (.562), Tiana Treon (.500 plus 10 RBIs) and Kayla Reich (.500) also hit well. The team will be back in action this Saturday, June 11 in Toms River, New Jersey for the 14u A ASA/USA Regional National Qualifier.  The team will be striving to earn a berth to the ASA/USA National Championships in Sioux Falls, South Dakota July 30-August 7.   For more information, visit the team’s website at
