Stripes & Strikes 18u GOLD wins Lehigh Valley Fall League Title

 

ALLENTOWN, PA – The Stripes & Strikes 18u GOLD softball team (20-7, 11-1) defeated the Bethlehem Hawks (9-3), in the Lehigh Valley Fall Softball League Championship Game at Patriot’s Park, 10-4, on Thursday night.   

    

            In the Semi-Final Game on Tuesday,  Morgan Wagner went 3-4, smashing a triple and two singles to drive in four runs to lead Stripes & Strikes to a 15-1 win in 5 innings over the Lehigh Valley Panthers.   She also picked up the win on the mound.  Megan Trivelpiece drove in two runs with a home run and single, while Kaitlyn Peters crushed a solo home run.  Rebecca Rossi singled twice.  Taylar Donnon went 2-4, driving in 3 runs with two singles.  Haley Naperkowski and Sarah Tuzinski also singled twice. Marissa Trivelpiece lined a 2-run double, while Tiana Treon added a single.

 

            In the Championship Game Thursday night, Stripes & Strikes defeated the Bethlehem Hawks, 10-4. Playoff MVP Megan Trivelpiece went a perfect 4-4, blasting a double and 3 singles to drive home 4 runs.  Taylar Donnon also had a big game, going 2-4 with a 2-run triple and RBI-single.  All three of her RBIs came with two outs.  Tiana Treon doubled and singled to drive in a run, and scored three times. Rebecca Rossi,  Marissa Trivelpiece,  Morgan Wagner, Kaitlyn Peters, Haley Naperkowski and Sarah Tuzinski each contributed a single.  Tuzinski (10-0) went the distance on the mound, scattering 9 hits over 7 innings to pick up her 10th win of the year without a loss. 

 

            Stripes & Strikes 18u GOLD (20-7) will now head to Florida to play in the Diamond 9 Fall Sun Classic in Orlando,October 26-30, one of the biggest recruiting tournaments in the country.  For more information, and to view the team’s schedule, please visit our website at www.stripesandstrikessoftball.com .
